Course
Reserva Conchal is a resort course in Costa Rica, set in undulating land right by the coast.
The rolling terrain was a perfect fit for Robert Trent Jones Jnr.
The course is part of a resort and has been designed as such.
Most of the patrons will be holiday golfers rather club members, so driving corridors have width.
But Reserva Conchal retains the interest and challenge throughout and had our group all keen to play again.
The greens are generally big with significant movement, and the property is very nicely bunkered.
Golfers have to think their way around this course!

- hole 1, a short par 4 opening hole with the green protected by a deep barranca short.

- hole 2, a long strong par 4 with dry creek beds meandering across the fairway in front of the tee and more significantly guarding the green

- hole 17, an epic 210 yard par 3 from an elevated tee with an all water carry to a green angled right to left and nicely bunkered

- hole 18, a long par 5 finish, with a water carry to a green fronted by an attractive stone wall. Anything short gets wet! (see pic top of page)
Reserva Conchal is a typical Robert Trent Jones Jnr course.
I have played over thirty of his courses world wide and always enjoy the experience.
This course is very playable off the appropiate tee, yet endlessly interesting.
There are so many good holes.
Play to position and you will enjoy the ride.
