Nirwana Bali Golf Resort was designed by Greg Norman with Bob Harrison and opened in 1997.  Located on west coast of Bali less than an hour from the airport, Nirwana is golfing heaven!

The resort is away from the hurly burly of southern Bali, and serves as a great place to set up for more than a few days. Guests can arrange transfers to visit Nusa Dua, or Seminyak, Ubud, or to play more golf at Bali National, New Kuta or Bali Handara.

But in reality Nirwana Bali resort is a place to enjoy rather than leave!

Greg Norman courses are consistently of good quality, but Nirwana Bali may well be his best. It is that good!

The course has been well routed with some of the most dramatic coastal holes in golf complemented by inland holes which use the natural terrain to advantage. I love it when the designer tells me my choices- and Norman has done that by creating a strategic course where the risks and rewards are there before you. The site has dense jungle, creeks, and an inlet, rice paddies, valleys, clifftops and beaches, and Balinese temples. All are incorporated into the course seamlessly. While it is said that Norman and Harrison are justifiably proud of theie work on the inland holes, in the end of the day it is the ocean side holes that are the most photographed and talked about.

Nirwana Bali is a course that I would like to play on repeat occassions, and if the weather gods are agreeable ( Bali is the island of the gods afterall ) and the course is firm and fast it would rate highly on my places to return to regularly

Accommodation

Don't even think of not staying at Nirwana Bali Resort!

Other Golf Courses on Bali:

Bali National is an outstanding course and a nice complement to Nirwana Bali

New Kuta has some nice clifftop holes if you seek another course

Bali Handara is located in the highlands, and not as well maintained
