Course Overview

Cambodia is Asia’s newest golf destination and Siem Reap is the must-see destination in Cambodia.  The nearby Angkor Wat temples are one of the wonders of the world and the beauty, symmetry and mystery of the monuments defy description.

Angkor Wat

The mysterious Angkor Wat – fascinating temple ruins only 10 minutes from Siem Reap.

Siem Reap has dozens of resort style hotels only 5-10 minutes from downtown.  Value for money is high as Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in the world.  Meals in town cost around $5 with beer ranging from 50cents to $1 a glass.  A good post-golf massage costs only $7 per hour.

The city has 3 top-class golf courses within a 30 minute drive of your hotel.  The Angkor Golf Resort was rated the best course in Cambodia by U.S. Golf Digest in 2012.  It is located only 10 minutes from the Airport and 15 minutes from downtown.  With a par of 72, the course provides for all level of golfers.  The Faldo Championship tees play to 7,279 yards, the Blue tees are 6,666 yards and Ladies tees are 5,151 yards.  The pins are placed in one of 3 sections on each green and you are advised the position numbers being played on the day.  The back of the scorecard has a guide to assist you with which third of the green each pin is placed.  The free full colour course guide also gives great advice for each hole and yardages to bunkers.  The golf fees are around US$145 including caddy and shared cart.

Beautiful Angkor

The course layout showing the extensive water hazards on every hole.

The fairways are typically generous but there is water in play on almost every hole.  The course has seashore paspallum grass throughout allowing an exceptional playing surface and an enjoyable round.  The bunkering style is impressively bold.  The compulsory caddies will offer you all types of advice and they have good spoken English.  They are very handy in advising on the subtle undulations on the greens.

Tee Off

The first hole – plenty of water and bunkers – make sure you warm up first!

18 Green

The 18th green – yep more water!

The course has an excellent clubhouse, pro shop, driving range, practice chipping and putting green.  The air conditioned restaurant is a welcome relief from the heat in the warmer months of the year.

CaddiesClubhouse

Special welcome from the caddies and the nicely air conditioned clubhouse.

Siem Reap has some of the most spectacular historical ruins in the world.  Adding in a game of golf or two is a great way to mixup sight-seeing, relaxing by the pool and spending some money in a community that needs our tourism dollars.
