History

Highlands Golf Club was initially known as The Mittagong Municipal Golf Links and opened for play on October 26, 1926

Originally it was a 9 hole course and was designed by Carnegie Clark

The course saw many changes over the years.

Carnegie Clark's son Hastings introduced the first grass green in 1933, but it wasn't until 1974 that the course extended to 18 holes

Course

Highlands now boasts a par 70 course measuring 5356 metres from the men's tees

As the name might suggest it is a hilly site

The club has no airs and graces, but does have  a number of quality golf holes.

We particularly liked the down hill par 3’s at twelve, fifteen and eighteen and the strong par 4 eighth hole.

But the star of the show for us was the short uphill par 4 seventhth hole with elevated green protected by a dam short left.

It is spectacular hole and quite unique. 

In fact, it’s a fantastic golf hole!
