Auckland is seen as the gateway to New Zealand for many international visitors, and travelling golfers often begin their New Zealand golfing experiences here.

Titirangi GC, designed by Alister McKenzie has been the main drawcard for over a century, and with recent renovations continues to be a 'must play' for golf trips around Auckland. Gulf Harbour provides a nice contrast with spectacular clifftop golf on a peninsula north of the city.

In recent years the emergence of Windross Farm GC, and Wainui GC- two modern world class courses- has put Auckland back on the map as a serious golfing destination. At the time of writing Royal Auckland is undergoing a major overhaul and is out of action, but the links at Muriwai just out of town has plenty of interest if more golf is required...
