Puerto Cortes- hole 14
Puerto Cortes GC was designed by Gary Player and opened for play in 2018 under the name Costa Baja.
Since then the name has changed to El Cortes GC in 2018, and more recently to Puerto Cortes GC.
The links like course is routed through both desert and seaside terrain and offers wonderful coastal views.
La Paz has increasingly become a tourist destination, and Puerto Cortes is well placed to cater for travelling golfers.
Quality accommodation and restaurant options abound only minutes from the course.
Travelling Golfers will no doubt also note that Paraiso Del Mar GC is just a short ferry trip away.
That's a nice 1-2!
Puerta Cortes is a cart course with significant elevation change throughout the course.
Notable Holes include:
- hole 2, a shortish well bunkered uphill par 4

- hole 5, a par 5 though desert like terrain

- hole 6, a down hill par 4 with sweeping ocean views

- hole 8, a sweet little par 3 over water
- hole 9, a more challening downhill par 3 over water to a nicely bunkered green

Travelling Golfers touring The Baja Peninsula will find that playing the must do courses nearer Cabo- Quivira, Diamante Dunes, Querencia etc leaves the glass half empty!
TPC Danzante Bay is absolutely top notch, and will demand to be included in travel plans.
So plans are increasingly changing to add a drive
And it just so happens that a stopover in La Paz works quite well, offering the opportunity to play both Puerta Cortes and Paraiso Del Mar along the way.
