Noordwijkse Golf Club
Noordwijske is a classic links course on the northern coast of the Netherlands.
The terrain it occupies varies from classic seaside dunes to areas where the holes play through a forest of pine trees.
Throughout, the course is blessed with a dramatic rolling links sand base.
It is as natural as it gets!
History
Noordwijske GC dates from 1915 when the original course opened, not far from the current site.
It moved to it's current site in 1972.
The club has hosted the Dutch Open nine times since the move.
Famous winners include: Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer (twice), Colin Montgomerie, Graham Marsh, Jose Rivero & more..
At the time of writing significant alterations were underway to the course, and they do look quite exciting.
Overseeing the changes are noted architects MacKenzie & Ebert.

Notable Holes include:
- hole 3, a very natural short par 3 surrounded by trees and dunes

- hole 8, a shorter, trickier uphill par 4 which demands a well placed tee shot.

- hole 12, a short par 3 downhill to a green tucked in the dunes

- hole 17, a longish par 3 to a green on a natural shelf in the dunes

Noordwijkse is currently one of the better courses in The Netherlands.
It seems likely that when the proposed upgrades bed in it will be ranked amongst the best in Europe.
