TRIP OVERVIEW

The trip begins in Chiang Mai, a traveller's paradise that is known for its genuine Thai charm.

We spend 5 nights at the 5 star Ratilanna Riverside Spa Resort in a deluxe room.

In Chiang Mai we play golf at the beautiful Gassan Legacy Golf Club,as well as the Alpine Golf Resort, host of the Chiang Mai Golf Classic and Chiang Mai Highlands Golf Resort, the best course in Chiang Mai.

Sightseeing in Chiang Mai includes a day to see the Elephants at Work and the Long Neck Hill tribe (Padong) Village.

There is also plenty of time to indulge in the spa facilities that Chiang Mai is famous for and the Thai food.

A visit to the local markets and restaurants, perhaps joining a Thai Cooking class, are amongst the many additional things you could do.

Then it's off to Chiang Rai for 3 nights staying at the 5-star Le Meridien Chiang Rai resort in a deluxe garden room.

We play golf at Santiburi Chiang Rai Country Club and do a full day sightseeing tour to see learn about the rich history of Chiang Rai and the exotic Golden Triangle.

The tour finishes on Monday 20th November when you either head on home or onto your next adventure.

CHIANG MAI & CHIANG RAI

Our trip starts in Chiang Mai, often referred to as 'The Rose of the North".
Chiang Mai is located a one hour flight north of Bangkok.

In recent times Chiang Mai has been transformed into a travellers paradise, combining a relatively untouched history and culture with genuine Thai charm.
It is all very laid back, and feels clean and safe.
Accommodation options now cater for every traveller- from the budget conscious to the luxury spa resorts.
The food is wonderful, and the local markets are extensive, varied and clean.
They are are real highlight of any visit.
Other activities include: cooking schools, golf, bike rides, motor cycle rides, elephant rides, visits to the hill tribes, tree top zipping, and more..

And of course a traditional Thai massage!

A stay in Chiang Mai can be relaxed or active, and for many it is THE place for a Thai holiday.
In fact in 2014 Trip Advisor rated Chiang Mai one of the top 25 best destinations in the world!

Chiang Rai is a delightful small city with a rich history that welcomes travellers.
It is known for its relaxed atmosphere, local cuisine, and as a perfect base for exploring the region being located in the heart of the exotic Golden Triangle.
The province is located where Myanmar, Laos & Thailand converge, and is renowned for its beautiful mountain scenery, Mekong river, hill tribe villages, temples and ancient sites and ruins.
The popular Golden Triangle Tour includes Thailand's mountaintop Chinatown, the 700 year old city of Chiang Sean, the notorious Golden Triangle, Laos and Myanmar borders and the Opium museum.

Who is The Travelling Golfer?

Directors Heather & Peter WoodDirectors: Heather & Peter Wood

"Our tours are known for the fabulous golf courses we play, high quality accommodation, and the variety of experiences that each destination provides. However, unequivocally the single most most important factor in the success of our tours is the camraderie of the people who join us. Golf is the common theme, but we have fun together, and lasting friendships are made."
