DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: February 2nd

Arrival and Transfer to Hotel

Day 2 

Private Excursion to the Waterfalls Brazilean side

 

We depart from the Hotel and cross The International Bridge ‘Tancredo Neves' that joins the cities of Puerto Iguazú (Argentina) and Foz do Iguazú (Brazil). Here, at the crossing of borders, we have to go through the Customs at both sides of the bridge. As we get to the ‘Visitor Center' we have to enter the Gates individually to check the loading capacity of the Park. We immediately get into the buses that tour within the park and they take us to the trail over the ‘Iguazú River'. At this, point we get a panoramic view of the Argentinean falls, where it is ideal to take pictures. As we go on, we can see ‘Cañon del Río Iguazú', Salto Rivadavia and Tres Mosqueteros. Towards the end of the tour we will get to Devil's Gorge lower viewpoint. The beautiful scenery here is enhanced by permanent rainbows. 

Over the Iguazú Falls in a Helicopter!

On the Brazilian side, it is possible to have the unique experience of flying over the famous Iguazú Waterfalls in a helicopter. These flights offer a majestic view of this geographical wonder. In a matter of minutes the mystery of the falls from the air is unveiled and you also see how the Iguazú River continues its course until it empties into the Paraná River.

 Day 3

Breakfast at Hotel and private excursion to the Waterfalls "Argentinian Side" 

The tour leaves from the hotel to visit the Argentinean side of the Iguazú Falls, located within Iguazú National Park, one of the first protected areas of America. The Iguazu Falls are made up of 275  different falls thundering down from a 70 meter average height. In this section of the rainforest, a huge variety of ferns, orchids, begonias, birds and butterflies can be seen while walking. The we head on our way to Estación Central, where we will take a train to Estación Cataratas and/or Estación Garganta del Diablo.

Waterfalls Nautical Excursion included!

With powerful boats, we shall bounce into the Lower Iguazu River Canyon bordering the San Martín Island where we shall reach the Tres Mosqueteros Fall. At this point we shall be able to see the falls of both the Argentine and Brazilian sides and the Garganta del Diablo. To finish the trip,  a baptism shower at the bottom of the San Martín waterfall, the hugest cascade any boat may endeavor. 

 

Transfer to Calafate airport and Flight to Buenos Aires

In spite of its modern constructions and dynamic activity, it has managed to preserve old traditions and charming corners. Buenos Aires, surrounded by Argentina's splendid countryside, is the great cosmopolitan doorway to South America.

Day 5

Breakfast at Hotel - Golf Round at “Buenos Aires Golf Club” (with Carts)

Designed by Robert Hagge in 1994, Buenos Aires GC has nine lakes all interconnected, and excellent greens which are in great condition all year round. The founders of Buenos Aires Golf Club intended to provide the country with a top-level club and support the growth of golf in Argentina by organizing important tournaments. This has been achieved and the club has hosted events such as the “Golf World Cup” in 2000.

Designed by Dr Alister Mackenzie, who also designed well known courses like Cypress Point, Augusta National , Royal Melbourne and Crystal Downs. The Jockey Club is a club full of tradition and has something very interesting in its history: all the Argentine presidents have been members of it.

Day 7

Breakfast at Hotel - Golf Round at “Olivos Golf Club” (with Caddies)

Considered the best golf course in Argentina and one of the best in South America, Olivos Golf Club is a course with 27 holes framed by beautiful trees, and with greens of excellent quality and design. Founded in 1926 and designed by Luther Koontz, it has hosted the Argentine Open and the Argentinian Masters. Olivos Golf Club also hosted the “Golf World Cup in 2010”.

Day 8: February 9th

Flight to “San Martin de los Andes” (duration 2hs 20 min) - departs 11.55am

The natural scenery of this Patagonian region offers countless options to spend a wonderful day:  activities in the area include a lake excursion by catamaran along Huechulafquen and Epulafquen Lakes, as well as El Escorial, a river made of solidified lava from the Lanin Volcano, take a rafting adventure along the Hua Hum, or to get to the Chilean border and enjoy all the magnitude of the Chilean lakes landscapes.

The rustic, chic Rio Hermoso Hotel, with a stone and wood façade, is located In the Parque Nacional Lanin and overlooks the Rio Hermoso river and is 12 km from Lake Hermoso and 28 km from San Martín de los Andes. Unique views, aromas and wildlife sounds make this hotel an exclusive place for those who are looking for privacy, comfort and close contact with nature. Its architecture evokes the warmth of a cozy mountain cabin combining native timber and millenary stones, most of which bear fossil inserts.

Day 10

Breakfast at Hotel - Hotel pick at 09.00 am Land Transfer (Sigthseeing Tour) to “San Carlos de Bariloche” by the “ 7 lakes Route ” ( 250 km )

Known as the “Seven Lakes Route”, we will go along the section of National Route 234 that joins the districts of San Martín de los Andes and Villa La Angostura. We will look at the main tourist corridor in the area, known world-wide for the matchless beauty of its landscapes, with panoramic natural vantage points, lakes, rivers and countless attractions opening up in the real seven lakes route.

San Carlos de Bariloche - Patagonia Argentina.

The majestic City of San Carlos de Bariloche lies on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, whose mountains and forests makes up of one of the most beautiful sites on Earth. Lying on the West of the Province of Río Negro and 1,640 kilometers away from the City of Buenos Aires, Bariloche offers all the services and amenities necessary for visitors to choose this place as the perfect location to rest at any season. Activities include fly-fishing for trout and salmon during the summer, and practicing various sports such as hiking, river rafting (along dozens of waterways) and walking around the ancient forests.

The Llao Llao Hotel has two wings: Ala Bustillo and Lago Moreno. The first wing is our signature building, opened in 1940. Lago Moreno wing was built in 2007. The 205 rooms in the Hotel are inspired in the warmth of the scenery, creating cosy and luminous spaces that everywhere reflect Patagonian style. The Lake View room is a cozy room overlooking the lake. The rooms have no air conditioning (approx. 22 m2 to 27 m2). Room upgrades available for extra cost.

Day 11 

Breakfast at Hotel - Golf Round at “Llao LLao Golf Club” (with pull carts / Carts)

The Llao Llao Golf Club is an amazing golf course set in one of the most scenic places in the world. It has attractive greens with challenging falls, perfectly integrated bunkers and water hazards, all very different to each other, make up an interesting and harmonic setting.

Framed by Lake Nahuel Huapi and hundred year old trees of great size, it presents a special challenge for the advanced level player and, at the same time, it is reasonable for players of diverse handicaps.

Day 12: February 13th

Breakfast at Hotel - Hotel pick up and transfer to airport - Flight to “El Calafate”
Flight by Aerolineas Argentinas (duration 1:45) - departs 10.45 am 

El Calafate is an important tourist resort  as all glacier circuits are accessed here. It is an oasis of poplars, willows and pines at the border of the steppe. Calafate presents a dry climate, with an average maximum temperature of 19C ,and an average minimum in winter of -2C. From Calafate you can go on excursions by bus or in modern ships. Expert bilingual guides and travel agencies organize tours and outings to view Glacier Perito Moreno or even the audacious expeditions to cross the glaciers.

Night in El Calafate

Accommodation: Hotel Posado Los Alamos, double room 4 nights

Posada Los Alamos is situated in the heart of El Calafate, close to Argentino Lake. It has spa facilities, an indoor pool and free Wi-Fi in all areas. The guest rooms feature heating, as well as a minibar and cable TV. Rooms have views over the organic garden and the mountains beyond.

An extensive breakfast buffet offers a choice of American, Argentinean or Patagonian food. La Posta Restaurant serves an a la carte menu of international and regional specialties, including Patagonian lamb. Los Alamos provides a full range of modern spa facilities and an indoor pool with ceiling-to-floor windows. The hotel has its own small 18-hole par 3 golf course.

Since the beginning the Guatti-Girometti family undertook personally the decoration of the hotel, filling the place with precious objects that store the history of the region and their family.

 

Day 13

Breakfast at Hotel and Excursion Day at National Park and Perito Moreno Glacier

We leave Calafate to journey to the Perito Moreno Glacier, crossing a passage of 80km during which we will make stops to take photos, accompanied by a guide qualified by the National Park “Los Glaciares”who will keep us informed on all the information about our surroundings, the flora, the fauna, and the mysticism of this unique Glacier. After entering the typical zone of the patagonic Andean forest, we will stop in the curve of the sighs, to enjoy the first Vista of the Perito Moreno glacier, then continuing on until the footbridges, where we will have free time for walks in front of the glacier.

Day 14

 Breakfast at Hotel and Full Day Excursion to Estancia Cristina: Upsala Glacier + 4x4+ Museum +

transfers in - out

Estancia Cristina was founded in 1914 by Joseph Percival Masters, an Englishman who came to Patagonia with his wife in 1900. Having heard marvels about the Patagonian lands of Southern Argentina and being in search of a promising future, he decided to embark with his wife towards Buenos Aires, to later travel to Río Gallegos.The estancia grew and had up to 22,000 hectares of land surrounded by glaciers, snow peaks and lakes of great natural beauty. Livestock then consisted of 27,000 sheep, 30 cows and some 50 horses!

Day 15

 

Breakfast at Hotel and Transfer to Puerto Natales (Torres del Painé National Park) - Hotel pick up: 7.00 am- Welcome to Puerto Natales and free day for optionals activities.

At 7 am we will pick you up at your hotel in El Calafate and begin the journey towards Torres del Paine in Chile. Crossing the patagonian steppe from north to south you will arrive at the border named Cancha Carrera (2.5 hours drive from El Calafate), from where you will start travelling through the beautiful south of Chile and enter the Torres del Paine National Park arriving around 10:30 am. The rest of the day is set aside so you can book trekking trips in the beautiful surroundings of this national park.

Night in Puerto Natales

Accommodation: The Singular Patagonia Hotel, The Singular Room, 3 nights

Located just outside Puerto Natales in the Chilean town of Puerto Bories, The Singular is a five-star luxury hotel in Patagonia. The former home of the Frigorifico Bories, a cold storage plant built in the early 20th century, The Singular has been transformed into a hotel unlike any other.

The owners have shown passion for protecting and celebrating the heritage of Patagonia and are descended from the early pioneers. After the Frigorifico was abandoned, they rescued it, refusing to let this piece of Patagonian history fall apart and fade away. They felt so strongly about maintaining the building’s history that they created a Private Collection of machines, engines and other artifacts from the old plant.

Sustainability was a major part of the design and construction. In fact, The Singular Patagonia was awarded the esteemed LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. The Singular Patagonia has been recognized as one of finest hotels in South America (in addition to being a piece of living history). It is also an ideal launching point for explorations of Patagonia and Torres del Paine National Park.

 

Day 16

 Breakfast at Hotel and Full Day Excursion to Torres del Painé and Grey Lake with lunch Hotel Pick up: 7.30 am - Hotel Return: 18.30 hs aprox.

This tour departs at 7:30 am from your lodging place in Puerto Natales and heads to Torres del Paine National Park. The first stop will be the millenary Milodon Cave, a huge natural site with an incalculable anthropological value- believed to have been inhabited by the primitive Patagonian man, and the Milodon (an extinct herbivorous animal). Continuing the journey, visitors will be able to see the outstanding Reserve of the Biosphera of the end of the world, where it is possible to admire the differents kinds of life in their natural state. The Torres del Paine National Park includes an incredible combination of lakes, lagoons, falls, glaciers, hills and peaks. Following the route, you can see the Nordenskjold and Pehoé lakes, together with groups of guanacos and lesser rheas or ñandúes. The journey continues with a 10 minute hike, where it is possible to discover the astonishing Salto Grande (large waterfall) and then continue through the front of the imposing horns towards the Grey Lake area. During the afternoon the tour continues towards the glacier area, where an approximate one-and-a-half-hour stop will be made, followed by an amazing hike among forests of lengas and the breathtaking ice floes of the Grey glacier. You will also have the opportunity to walk along the bank of the Pingo river. In the final part of the trek, at the lake, millenial ices stranded in the shore can be seen.

Day 17

Breakfast at hotel - Full day excursion: Boat Trip Glaciar Balmaceda - Transfer to Hotel in Puerto Natales Hotel Pick up: 7.30 am - Hotel Return: 17.30 am aprox.

Visiting this glacier one can admire a majestic place almost untouched by man. But it is only possible to access by going across the Ultima Esperanza Gulf. The Glacier is located on the Balmaceda Mount at an altitude of 2.035 metres, in the Bernardo O Higgins National Park, part of the Andes range.

Once the ship gets closer to the Sea Wolves Reserve we close in on The Balmaceda Mount. Here we find the Balmaceda Glacier which duly lets big ice blocks go into the water of the fiord and of Serrano Glacier. The return trip starts around 14:30 pm. A stop in the Estancia Perales (ranch)  on the return trip gives visitors the chance of having a delicious lunch typical of the region.
