Hapuna GC
Located on Big Island near Mauna Kea in the north west, Hapuna Golf Course is an Arnold Palmer & Ed Seay design dating from 1992.
Set in rolling terrain set back from the ocean, it is a desert style layout with dramatic elevation changes, and wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean from nearly every hole.
The course plays up and down and across the slopes, and is really set up for carts- it would be a strenous walk...
In places the terrain has dictated holes that are tight in places, requiring acuracy both off the tee and for the approach.
However with the various tee box options available the course is quite playable for all levels of player.

Notable holes include:
-the par 4 twelfth hole- 'the signature hole'. The tee is nearly 700ft up, and has panoramic views...
-the par 5 fourteenth hole- a dramatic par 5 with a gorge in play and a shallow green!
Hapuna is well maintained, and is a pleasant place to play golf.
It is an ideal warm up for The Big Event just across the road- Mauna Kea..
