 Tain Golf Club

Tain Golf Club dates back to 1889 when Old Tom Morris was approached to oversee the making of a new course.

Originally called St Duthus Golf Club, Morris's design incorporated only 15 holes to start (in 1890).

Soon after more land was acquired and the course was extended to 18 holes.

In 1911 the club changed it's name to Tain Golf Club

Notable Holes include:

- hole 2 (River), a memorable shortish par 4 with a burn to avoid off the tee, and a plateau green protected by a couple of pot bunkers up front.

Tain Golf Club is a delight to play, and a perfect way to start a tour of the championship links of Scotland and England.

It is just a short drive from Royal Dornoch- where many a tour starts.

Tain is not as long or difficult or polished as Dornoch but is ideal as a warm up round.
