It has also hosted regional qualifiers for The Open.
Course
Wilmslow is a classic parkland course.
Right from the opening tee shot the course takes you on a journey with tall trees and bunkers indicating lines of play.
The holes on flattish ground are in wonderful condition but strategic placement of bunkers and trees demands accuracy..
The fun kicks in when play moves through the trees and over the creek- which it does a number of times..
These are spectacular, charismatic, memorable holes!
Holes like 9, 14, 17 & 18 are something a little bit special!
Notable Holes include:
- hole 6- a flat mid length par 3 in a lovely parkland setting
- hole 7, a mid length parkland par 5 where fairway bunkering is the main threat.
