Overview

On this 17-night escorted tour you will play the best courses in Denmark and Sweden, travel to an island archipelago in Finland to pay one of Finland's best courses, and fly north to the amazing Lofoten Links in Norway, considered to be one of the most breathtaking places to play golf in the world.
The tour begins in Copenhagen, with games at Great Northern GC (number 1 in Denmark) and The Scandinavian Old & New Course, where the Old Course is rated number 2 in Denmark.
You then head into Sweden where you visit stunning golf resorts such as PGA Sweden and Sand, and stay 2 nights in the heart of Stockholm playing nearby courses and enjoying a half day of sightseeing. The best courses in Sweden and Finland are on islands, so the tour travels by ferry to Aland Island Finland and Gotland Island Sweden. On the Aland Island archipelago Finland you play the delightful Slottsbanan Castle Course with the option to also play Kungsbana Kings Course. On Gotland Island you play Visby GC "The One" (rated 1 in Sweden) and the 9-hole "The Other One". Both these islands are located in the middle of the Baltic Sea.
A flight north will take you to the far northern reaches of Norway, to the Lofoten Islands archipelago. Located north of the Arctic Circle, it is daylight 24 hours a day in July. Here you play and stay at Lofoten Links which has been ranked in the Top 100 courses in the world. It is one of The Travelling Golfers favourite courses in the world and this will be a highlight of all your golfing travels.
The tour will be led by Rory Wood and it is a confirmed starter. It is now open for bookings.
Flights, Ferries and Car
The tour starts in Copenhagen so you will need to book your international flights to arrive in Copenhagen by the 30th June.
Travel in Denmark and Sweden will be by land and ferry. Please note it will be a self-drive tour - we will assist with organising car hire and sharing the driving. We have avoided costly one-way drop off fees by designing the tour to begin and end at Copenhagen Airport.
After touring Denamark & Sweden, you will fly to Lofoten in Norway. Flights from Copenhagen connect through Oslo and onto Leknes Norway. It is a 50 minute scenic drive from Leknes to Lofoten Links.
The tour ends with a flight from Leknes Lofoten to Oslo and your onwards travel. Flights depart daily from Leknes to Oslo at 11.50am.
Courses you will play
Great Northern - is an upscale golf resort with a course designed by Nicklaus Design. It opened for play in 2017 and is rated 1 in Denmark. Water features on most holes and there is on-course accommodation and restaurant.
The Scandinavian Old & New - designed by Bruce Charlton of Robert Trent Jones Jnr architects and rated 39 & 43 in Continental Europe. The Old opened in 2010 and is rated 2 in Denmark. There is an on-course guesthouse for visitors.
Sand - an inland links course built on an old potato farm, with plenty of large sand traps and nests of pot bunkers.
PGA Sweden National (2) - opened in 2009, the PGA Sweden National Golf facility comprises two 18-hole courses (Lakes and Links) and a 9-hole par 3 course all designed by Kyle Phillips. The course has an overtly American feel to it and has held the Scandinavian Masters.
Falsterbro - One of the few classic links courses in Sweden, located on the Falsterbro peninsula, the southern most tip of Sweden
Slottsbanan Castle Aland - located on a stunning peninsula on the Aland islands archipelago in Finland. There are 2 courses, The Castle and the KIng Courses. The recent renovation of the Castle Course has received a lot of praise and is often rated 1 in Finland. The Kungsbana Kings Course is a shorter hillier course in dense pine forests. There is also a 6-hole par 3 named The Princess Course.
Visby - Visby GC is located on Gotland Island and has 2-courses - "The One" rated 1 in Sweden, which has a combination of seaside and parkland holes, it is a beautiful course that was renovated in 2007. There is also a short 9-hole course ("The Other one") that is great for a warm up.
Ulna - a popular course located on the shores of Lake Ullna, it is a compact tight course with water everywhere, was recently renovated by Jack Nicklaus.
Bro Hoff Stott Stadium - The Stadium Course is rated 2 in Sweden. The Stadium Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr and has hosted the Scandinavian Masters. It has long holes, large greens, big bunkers and plenty of water hazards. There is a 2nd course called the Castle Course, which contrasts with shorter holes, less water, narower fariways and more trees.
Lofoten Links - This spectacular course is located in the far northern reaches of Norway, and is rated 80 in the world and 3 in Europe. An impressive rating given how few raters would travel to this remote destination. 'Magical' is the best decription of playing golf here.
There is also the option to play Kristianstads (East) GC, rated 4 in Sweden.
At Great Northern, The National PGA Sweden and Sand Golf Courses we will be staying in on-course accommodation with half-board.
Other notable accommodation is:
Visby GC, Gotland Island
Sand Golf Course, Sweden
Rory at The Masters
Rory is an experienced traveller and a passionate golfer, playing off a plus 1 handicap. He is also a pennant player, Club Champion and International Rater for Golf Digest USA.
He is involved at all levels of The Travelling Golfer business - from researching and designing trips, to leading groups to the special golfing destinations. Rory is an experienced and much loved leader, and specialises in leading groups to The Masters, The Open Rota Championship Courses in the UK and Ireland's Best Courses. He also leads international visitors to the best Australia and New Zealand Courses. This is what our client say:
"Rory handles everything in his stride. He is so calm and collected in the organisation of the trip and everyone adores him. He is a great golfer and we are all in awe of him." Brad Wisconsin USA 2025
"After filling out the form online, I was contacted by Rory Wood and instantly impressed about his organization and plan for this trip. My only responsibility was to arrive in Liverpool at the beginning of the trip. After that, Rory took care of the rest. The accommodations were first class, the itinerary well organized, and the golf . . . well, that speaks for itself. I did not know anyone participating in this trip prior to arrival in Liverpool. As it turns out, I was the only non-Australian in the group. Rory and the rest of the participants could not have made me feel more welcome, or as they would like to say, “one of the mates.” I now have made lifelong friends and I look forward to meeting up with them again."
