Overview

On our 12-day self-drive tour of the North island of New Zealand, you will travel from Wellington to Te Arai, playing 7 rounds of golf with ample time for sightseeing in Wellington, Rotorua and Auckland.
This tour is particularly suitable for golfers and their non-golfing partners who like the flexibility of self-driving.

Ian & Lyn are ideal tour leaders. They are experienced travellers and tour leaders, having led groups to New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Vietnam. Many of their tours offer a self-drive option which gives them the flexibilty to cater for both golfers and non-golfers. Ian is a keen golfer and looks after the golfing side of things - he is a member of The Heritage G & CC (past captain) and The National Golf Club in Victoria. Lyn does a great job organsing the sightseeing for the non-golfers in the group.

Monday 16th February, 2026 - Arrive at Wellington Airpor. Check into 3-nights at Rydges Wellington. Welcome dinner.
Tuesday 17th - Breakfast. Play Royal Wellington.
Wednesday 18th - Breakfast. Free day for sightseeing in Wellington.
Thursday 19th - Breakfast. Check out. Travel to Paraparauma Beacch and play 18-holes. Check into Wrights by the Sea for 1-night.
Friday 20th - Check out. Drive to Taupo. Free day for sightseeing along the way. Check into Millenium Hotel & Resort Taupo for 1-night.
Saturday 21st - Breakfast. Check out. Play golf at Kinloch. Visit Huka Falls. Drive to Rotorua. Check into Millenium Resort Rotorua for 2-nights.
Sunday 22nd- Breakfast. Play golf at Rotorua in the morning. Visit a Geothermal Park in the afternoon.
Monday 23rd - Breakfast. Check out. Travel to Auckland. Opportunity to do some sightseeing along the way (Hobbiton) or sightseeing in Auckland. Check into Grand Millenium Auckland for 2-nights.
Tuesday 24th- Breakfast. Play Titirangi in the morning. Check out Auckland in the evening.
Wednesday 25th - Breakfast. Check out. Free day for sightseeing. Possible visit to Waiheke Island. Drive to te Arai (94kms) Check into Te Arai Links for 2-nights.
Thursday 26th - Breakfast. Play Te Arai North Course.
Friday 27th - Breakfast. Check out. Play Te Arai South Course. Travel to Auckland airport.

You must have travel insurance in place before making any payments. We can assist you with purchasing travel insurance cover at a competitive rate. Please indicate if you require travel insurance on the booking form.
*Price in AUD is based on 1.0 AUD = 1.07 NZD as 11/04/2025 and is subject to currency exchange fluctuations. Balance is payable 60 days before departure and the price in AUD will be calculated at that time. The deposit is non-refundable once the trip is a confirmed starter. No refunds at all will be paid for any cancellations made within 60 days of departure.
Price is dependent on a minimum of 8 travellers in the group.
