...

Chapelco was the first design in Sth America by Jack Nicklaus Design, and under the keen eye of Jack Nicklaus Jnr Chapelco opened in 2006 as part of a large real estate development

It is a resort style course routed through forests, pampas grass, and lakes. With undulating terrain, and great variety of holes Chapelco is a class act, and our choice as the best course we played in Argentina.

notable holes:

loved 4-7

Hole 4 is a unique par 4 with multiple landing areas each protected by pampas grass and long rough and framed by pine trees on the left. Decisions need to be made on the tee as to which club and which line to take, always taking into consideration the ever present wind...
A world class hole

hole 5 is a strong par 3 in a lovely valley setting.

hole 6 is a ripping par 5 with water hazard threatening on the left

hole 7 is a wonderful longer par 3 over a deep valley to an elevated green protected by a pot bunker front and centre

hole 10- a lovely down hill par 5 where everything is set out before you, and the bunkering will make you think about when you zig and when you zag

hole 11- a pretty par 3 protected by water front right, and complicated by a devilish fall off in the green left, making the safe play away from the water rather tricky..

hole 12- a strong par 4 with a long water carry and requiring two solid shots to get home

Chapelco has the advantage of a lovely valley setting, nice elevation change, gorgeous mountain backdrop and and some pretty decent design work by Nicklaus Design. It is a winning combination!
