South Africa features highly on most people's bucket lists and really does provide an amazing variety of experiences...
The Travelling Golfer trips to South Africa are born out of years of research, personal experience and feedback from our clients.
The Golfing Safari consistently is rated as one of the best trips people have ever experienced. High praise indeed!
For sheer diversity of unique experiences, it is hard to beat South Africa!
Our objective with The Golfing Safari is to give our clients exposure to many of these diverse experiences, but to do so without compromising safety.
This 18 day trip includes:
The best golf in the country!
A life changing safari experience
An overnight journey on the famous Blue Train
Time in Capetown, The Cape Of Good Hope and Table Mountain
A visit to the Winelands around Stellenbosch including wine tastings
A tour down the spectacular Garden Route stopping for championship golf ( Pezula & Arabella ), Cango Caves, the Ostrich Farm and Cango Wildlife Ranch..
A three day stopover at Sun City Resort including golf at the championship Gary Player course and the fun Lost City course.
A relaxing stop where you can indulge yourself at the world famous Fancourt Resort with fine dining, all manner of sporting activities, and time to have a massage and spa. And Fancourt includes 3 highly rated courses- The Outeniqua, The Montague, and the best course in Sth Africa- The Links at Fancourt.
The tour can be organised for groups or couples, and transport can be tailored to the group- whether it be planes, trains or automobiles (or buses).
Arabella GC is a resort style course located around an hour east of Capetown. It is best known for the imposing closing holes on each nine which hug the coastline. The hotel is top shelf and is beautifully located overlooking the course and coast.
Pezula GC is a dramatic hillside course near George on The Garden Route. With dramatic elevation changes and views of the ocean and lagoons from many holes Pezula is great fun to play and is a personal favourite at The Travelling Golfer.
Fancourt Resort is a five star resort also located on the Garden Route. The resort includes 3 golf courses, all of which rate amongst the best in Sth Africa. In my opinion The Links at Fancourt stands out head and shoulders above the rest as the premier course in the country.
Sun City Resort is located 2 hours drive from Johannesburg and is a popular resort destination with game parks, casino and two well known golf courses. The Gary Player course is best known as the site of the Nedbank Challenge and is a championship course. The Lost City Course is a direct contrast to its elder sibling. Also designed by Gary Player, Lost City has more undulation through the course and in my view is more interesting and fun to play. And you will never forget the 'Flinstones' clubhouse, or the par 3, 13th hole with particularly nasty hazards- crocodiles!
Leopard Creek GC near Kruger National Park is generally regarded as one of the two the best courses in the country. Whilst I rate The Links at Fancourt as a better course, Leopard Creek is top shelf in an amazing setting, and is an unforgettable experience.
The Travelling Golfer offers core trips which can be tailored to your requirements. As well as this 18 day tour we offer: South Africa- A Short Golfing Safari which covers the Capetown area, the Garden Route, and Safari. High end travellers could also consider Rovos Rail Golf Tours
